It was raining, yet so many of you made your way there.
I was 3 months into my work and had nearly forgotten how it felt like to be a student. My family and I were looking forward to attending my graduation ceremony. It was an occasion worth celebrating! For one afternoon, all my problems and difficulties at work were put aside so that we could take a breather and toast the momentous day. It was truly an occasion to be thankful for.
I remember as I walked on stage to receive my scroll, I heard loud cheering from somewhere up in the second level. I turned my head to see who, as I couldn't remember anyone saying they would be attending. I couldn't see anything as the spot lights were blinding. I quickly refocused on walking a straight line towards the Guest Of Honor. I'm terribly mono-tasking and couldn't afford to figure out who was cheering at that time. I remember even walking too fast, so much so that I reached the Guest Of Honor even before my name was fully announced.
"Wait there first..."
"Oh ok ok ok..."
I tried to smile, but he returned no smile. Hehe. Aiseh, was bonking myself in my head for walking so fast. The announcer finished announcing my name after what seemed like forever, and I duly got my scroll. As we made our way out of the hall after the ceremony, I got a call saying that all of you were here and wanted to meet me. I remember saying 'sure, lets meet outside'... and what a surprise! So I got Tuddles, and found out who my mystery supporters were. Haha. I am truly thankful. I really appreciated the gesture and remember it fondly.
My family went on for dinner at nearby KLCC later to have a simple celebration dinner. FooSA met us there as she was working that day. We had a good dinner and was very glad to have my family and FooSA with me to celebrate with. This is us, 2 years-ish ago, as taken by my helpful mum:
Happy hor? Yes, I think so too.
I remember having a conversation with a friend:
'Wah last time ah... this was so good... that was so good... that time was so good... that holiday was so good... (reminiscing continues)'
'Haha, why you always talking about our good ol' days? Emo ah? Haha!'
'It was good what!'
I remember telling myself then that I would always cherish the good memories, but always seek to keep building more throughout our lives. Good memories, small or big, through good times or bad times. This week I am blessed to recount a few good memories created at work, even though not everything is rosy these days.
Have a good weekend everyone.
